At the deepest level, most of us are hanging on for "the one". One true love made just for you. Love made perfect by God.

Sometimes we wait for it but more often it seems that we don't. The one thing we need and crave the most is the one thing we often lack, despite everything we've heard and tried. Instead of destiny, true love turns into a fantasy...something we don't really expect to have.

Oftentimes, we settle. When there are two, three or more others who are temporarily willing to step in and try to be your one and only, most of us are only too happy to let them in - even if we know (on an obscure level) that it's only for a little while.

Bear in mind, though, the one who is not your ultimate soulmate is someone else's. "The one" is your spiritual spouse.
